Abstract. This article studies the scientific legacy of scholar Abul Barakat al-Nasafi, who lived during the Mongol invasion and was one of the prominent representatives of Hanafi jurisprudence and Maturidi belief. His important works in the fields of theology, jurisprudence and interpretation, in particular his commentary entitled “Madorik at-Tanzil wa Haqoiq at-Ta’wil”, are analyzed separately. This commentary is based on the teachings of Hanafi and the Sunnis, and uses selected aspects from Zamakhshari’s “Kashshof” and Bayzawi’s interpretations, but uses a style free from Mu’tazilite approaches.The author interpreted the verses of the Quran from a jurisprudential, linguistic and theological perspective, and wrote the commentary in a moderate, concise, free from Israelitish and scientific approach.
