Abstract
This article analyzes the formation, stages of development and reforms of the consular service in the period after the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The study covers the legal basis, organizational structure and role of the consular system in international cooperation between 1991 and 2024. The initial formation of the system in the 1990s, its strengthening in 2000-2016, and the processes of creating convenience for citizens through the introduction of digital technologies from 2016 are analyzed. Also, attention is paid to innovations such as the introduction of online platforms such as "E-Consul" and "E-Visa Uzbekistan", practical assistance during the pandemic and the opening of new consular institutions. At the end of the article, the role of the consular service in protecting the interests of citizens, increasing international prestige and developing diplomatic relations is summarized.
