Abstract. This article covers the issues of studying the theoretical foundations of the concept of the system and process of motivation, analyzing the types of teachers' activities and modern approaches to their motivation, studying the practice of foreign countries in motivating the activities of employees of general educational institutions, and developing proposals and recommendations for improving the system of motivating teachers of general educational institutions.
