DIALOGUE AS A MEANS OF CHARACTER REVELATION

Abstract

    This article examines the role of dialogue as one of the most important artistic means of revealing a character’s personality in a literary work. It analyzes how an author conveys the inner world, social status, psychological state, and relationships of characters through their speech behavior, the features of their utterances, intonation, and lexical choice. Special attention is paid to the significance of dialogue in the development of the plot and in the deepening of the artistic image.
