Signed translation plays a crucial role in bridging communication gaps for hearing-impaired students in higher education, especially for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This article explores the key difficulties educators and students face, including limited availability of trained sign language interpreters, the complexity of adapting signed translation to different linguistic structures, and the necessity of cultural competence in translation.
