Abstract

This article provides a linguistic overview of prefixes in English, focusing on their classification according to meaning, origin, and grammatical function. Prefixes are an essential part of English word formation and vocabulary expansion. A clear understanding of how prefixes function can enhance both language teaching and learning by deepening morphological awareness and improving vocabulary acquisition.
