Abstract

In the digital age, the English language has undergone significant transformations due to the widespread influence of the internet and social media. This article explores the linguistic changes occurring in online communication, focusing on abbreviations, slang, and newly emerging expressions. It analyzes how digital communication reshapes traditional English, its impact on users’ language proficiency, and the challenges it poses for language learning. The study is based on linguistic research and real-life examples from online platforms. The findings highlight the necessity of adapting to these changes while maintaining language standards.
