Abstract

This article presents a comparative linguopragmatic analysis of sound imitations in English and Uzbek. The study examines both languages' linguistic features, pragmatic functions, and cultural connotations of sound imitations. The comparative analysis shows that while in English sound imitations are more common in the media and children's literature, in Uzbek they are closely related to folklore and everyday speech, reflecting cultural identity. The examples presented demonstrate phonetic, morphological, and pragmatic differences.
