Abstract

This article explores the linguistic and sociolinguistic features of the category of address in both English and Uzbek languages. Addressing plays a crucial role in communication, reflecting social relationships, power dynamics, and cultural norms. By examining pronouns, honorifics, kinship terms and politeness strategies, we aim to elucidate the intricate ways in which speakers navigate interpersonal interactions in these two languages.
