Abstract

This article examines contemporary approaches to English language teaching methodology, analyzing current pedagogical frameworks, innovative instructional strategies, and evidence-based practices. The research explores the evolution from traditional grammar-translation methods to communicative language teaching and task-based learning approaches. Special attention is given to technology integration, learner-centered methodologies, and assessment innovations in ELT contexts. The study synthesizes recent empirical findings demonstrating the effectiveness of various methodological approaches, including portfolio-based assessment, flipped classroom models, and multimodal instruction. The analysis reveals that effective English language teaching requires a balanced integration of communicative competence development, cultural awareness, and technological literacy within learner-centered pedagogical frameworks.
