Abstract

This article explores the role of phraseological units in translation, focusing on the interaction between language and culture in English and Uzbek. Phraseological units reflect national identity, historical experience, and cultural values. Translating such expressions requires not only linguistic knowledge but also cultural awareness. The study examines the challenges of translating culturally marked phraseological units, outlines modern strategies for achieving functional and cultural equivalence, and emphasizes the importance of cultural mediation in the translation process.
