Abstract

This article provides a comparative analysis of idioms in English and Uzbek languages. The main aim of the study is to identify the semantic, structural, and cultural characteristics of idiomatic expressions in both languages. The paper examines the role of idioms in language systems, their usage in speech, and the similarities and differences between English and Uzbek idioms. The study is based on linguistic literature and examples from both languages. The results show that idioms reflect the national mentality, culture, and historical experience of each language community
