Abstract

This thesis presents the taxonomic position, distinctive morphological characteristics, main representatives, and economic importance of the Apiaceae (Umbelliferae) family. Special attention is given to widely used plants such as carrot, parsley, coriander, and cumin, which are used in food, medicine, and as spices.
