Abstract

Abstract: This article examines the theoretical foundations of integrating interactive quizzes with podcast-based listening activities to improve learners’ listening retention and engagement. In recent years, digital technologies and web-based learning platforms have reshaped listening pedagogy, providing teachers with tools that combine audio input and immediate assessment. The study explores how interactive quizzes, when integrated with podcasts, enhance learners’ comprehension, motivation, and long-term retention through feedback-driven and learner-centered approaches. The discussion draws on theories of cognitive engagement, retrieval practice, and multimodal learning to highlight how interactive listening can foster sustained comprehension at the A2–B1 proficiency levels.
