Frazemalar – tilning ajralmas qismi bo‘lib, ular xalqning madaniy merosi, tarixi
va dunyoqarashining ifodasi sifatida xizmat qiladi. Ushbu maqola ingliz va o‘zbek
tillaridagi frazeologik birliklarning shakllanishi, semantik mazmuni va madaniy
ahamiyatini tahlil qilishga bag‘ishlangan. Tahlil natijalari shuni ko‘rsatadiki, har ikki
tilda frazemalar o‘xshash vazifani bajarsada, ularning shakli va mazmunida jiddiy
madaniy tafovutlar mavjud bo‘lib, bu tarjima va madaniyatlararo muloqotda
muammolar tug‘dirishi mumkin. Mazkur maqolada ushbu o‘xshashlik va tafovutlar
adabiy namunalarda namoyon bo‘lgan jihatlar bilan boyitilgan holda yoritiladi.
