Ushbu maqolada narkozning jarrohlik amaliyotidagi ahamiyati, uni qo‘llash uchun ko‘rsatmalar yoki yo‘qligi, narkoz turlari, giyohvand moddalarning tasnifi va yuborish usullari, bemorlarni narkozga tayyorlash, bemor organizmida narkozning o‘tish bosqichlari, shuningdek, bemorga qarab anestetiklarning me’yorlari haqida ma’lumot berilgan. Xirurgik operatsiyalarda og‘riqsizlantirish, ya’ni narkozni qo‘llash katta amaliy ahamiyatga ega. Chunki, bemorlarda bajariladigan murakkab operatsiyalarda organizmdagi og‘riq impulslarini to‘liq va ratsional tarzda yo‘qotish, keraksiz harakatlarini bartaraf etish faqatgina narkoz orqali amalga oshiriladi.
