O‘zbekiston meva-sabzavot mahsulotlari ishlab chiqarish va eksport qilish bo‘yicha yetakchi davlatlardan biridir. Ayniqsa, o‘rik yetishtirish va uni qayta ishlash sohasi katta ahamiyatga ega. 2024-yil ma’lumotlariga ko‘ra, O‘zbekistonda 1,4 million tonnadan ortiq o‘rik yetishtirilgan. Bu ko‘rsatkich bo‘yicha mamlakat dunyodagi eng yirik o‘rik ishlab chiqaruvchilardan biri hisoblanadi.
