Ushbu maqolada gipertoniya (yuqori qon bosimi) kasalligining oldini olishda sog‘lom hayot tarzining o‘rni atroflicha yoritiladi. Gipertoniyaning kelib chiqish sabablari, xavf omillari va profilaktika choralarida ovqatlanish, jismoniy faollik, ruhiy holat va zararli odatlardan voz kechishning roli tibbiy-nazariy hamda amaliy nuqtai nazardan tahlil qilinadi. Maqola, shuningdek, sog‘lom turmush tarzini hayotga joriy etishning ijtimoiy-iqtisodiy ahamiyatini ko‘rsatadi.
