This article examines the role of the cognitive approach in foreign language acquisition, focusing on how cognitive processes such as memory, attention, and problem-solving influence language learning. It discusses ke cognitive theories, including Information Processing Theory and Constructivism, to highlight how learners actively process, store, and retrieve language information. The article emphasizes the use of cognitive strategies such as repetition, chunking, and mnemonic devices to enhance language retention and fluency. Additionally, it addresses the impact of individual differences in cognitive abilities on language learning and advocates for personalized instruction that caters to these differences.
